The Summer Solstice firing for 2014 was a terrific success, dedicated to the project IMBIBE: VESSELS OF CELEBRATION. For photos and updates on the latest firing, please check out the page of CURRENT WORK where I have posted the first images from this project.

I am in the process of publishing a catalog with Jeremy Addington, brilliant photographer and friend, which will go with the installation for future public gallery exhibitions.

IMBIBE: VESSELS OF ILLUMINATION

Many special hugs and deep thanks to crew members Lisa Christie, Kass Swankey, Diane Burt, Lisa Martin, Carl Schlicting, Cam Stewart, Peter Kobald, and my wonderful community for all the love and support.

it takes a week for our tightly sealed kiln to slowly cool...ah patience...

2013 Summer Solstice was an unforgettably beautiful extended forty six hour kiln firing with wonderful results.

I am grateful to such a fine crew of Cam Stewart, Lisa Christie, and Kass Swanky,  joined for power shifts by Noam Ash, Neil McBriar and Carl Schlicting. Thank you all so much for the love, sweat, and joyous work.  Our kiln opening was an extraordinary celebration of exceptional pots from such a terrific team.

I am also grateful to Jeremy Addington who came at dawn to shoot the kiln in action, and really captured the essence of fire magic.

Our  June 2011 36 hour firing was superb at the zenith of the year with all hopes and dreams fulfilled.

2010 was a dramatically snowy January 40 hour firing, an unforgettably stunning elemental contrast of fire and ice, darkness and light.

Each luminous vibrant surfaces of every form within the kiln forever documents the hours of transcendent beauty experienced throughout the fierce journey of the firing.

I am especially delighted that photographer friend RicardO Hubbs was able to visit at dawn,  hour 36 of the 40 hour  January firing. His photos capture the magic!
